Post 3: Obesity. Public or private problem?

Obesity is a public health problem, therefore, it's up to all of us to take charge of this problem. Now, why is it a public health problem? Because obesity increases the risk of having health problems such as diabetes, hypertension and respiratory diseases. In general, obesity is related to a poor quality of life and a sedentary lifestyle. All these diseases and difficulties eventually saturate the health centers, which is disastrous considering that problems can be prevented by changing the way of life. Obesity brings problems to all of us, not just those who are obese. Therefore, governments, authorities and all of us have the responsibility to promote a healthier life that allows us to overcome obesity.

Some people who think that freedom is an abstract value, think that obesity is a private problem. These people argue that their body belongs to them, so they can do whatever they want. However, I do not agree with them, as they can think what they want, but obesity will remain a public problem.
